I have been DJ'ing now for nearly 15 years and it all started in a town called Otley. I bought a pair of KAM belt driven turntables and a simple Vestax 2 chanel mixer and from then on I was hooked. I lived virtually day and night in my bedroom just beat mixing and self teaching basics to myself, I started clubbing, listening and learning new styles and techniques. After a while I moved up to the great undisputed king of decks, the Technics SL1210 MK2's, it was after this move my mixing technique greatly improved and soon I was DJ'ing in nearby Pubs and small Clubs, offering my DJ skills for free in a bid to get ''noticed''.
I have DJ'd various guest nights including a few spots with a DJ friend at the upstairs room in a Bradford club called Lingards, this had a max capacity of 1200 people but it rocked and the resident DJ's there really made the whole night worthwhile.
I now have a residency in Farsley near Leeds called the Bayhorse Pub, it's a small venue but we get a good crowd and the music played is my choice, namely, Funky House, Electo, Commercial Dance, Old Skool / Retro.
I am still wanting to break into the Yorkshire club scene and with this in mind 2010 should be a great year, I am still going to be mastering my Funky Session's CD's and giving them out for free, keep watching the Funky Sessions page for more information and detailed listings along with downloadable & streaming content.
